FAQ

How do I add a wine to my collection?
Tap the + button on the carousel screen. You can capture a photo with your camera or import one from your photo library. Add a title and description, then save.
How does AI label analysis work?
When editing a wine card, tap “Analyze with AI”. VinoReel sends up to three photos to OpenAI’s GPT-4o Vision API, which identifies the wine name, vintage, region, grape variety, and generates a description. The analysis streams in real time.
Do I need an OpenAI account?
Only if you want to use AI label analysis. You provide your own API key in the OpenAI Settings screen. The key is stored securely in the iOS Keychain and is never shared with anyone except OpenAI.
What does the AI analysis cost?
VinoReel itself is free. AI analysis uses your own OpenAI API key, so costs depend on OpenAI’s pricing. A typical wine analysis costs a few cents. You can choose between GPT-4o (best quality), GPT-4 Turbo, or GPT-4o Mini (lowest cost).
What languages are supported?
VinoReel supports 7 languages: English, Russian, Ukrainian, French, Italian, Spanish, and German. The app automatically matches your device language.
Where are my wine photos stored?
All photos are stored locally on your device in three optimized sizes (original, card-size, and thumbnail). Nothing is uploaded to any server unless you explicitly trigger AI analysis.
Can I share my wine collection?
You can share individual wine photos via the iOS Share Sheet. VinoReel also includes a Share Extension so you can import wine photos from other apps like Safari, Photos, or Mail.
How do I switch between light and dark mode?
Go to More → Appearance and choose System, Light, or Dark. The app uses Apple’s native Liquid Glass styling in both themes.
What is Liquid Glass?
Liquid Glass is Apple’s new design language introduced in iOS 26, featuring translucent, glass-like surfaces with depth, blur, and ambient light effects. VinoReel is built natively with this design system.
